it's me curled up in the passengers seat
embracing the trees at 70 mph with a lens and a window between
even the blur . the merging of branch and sky in dark and light and soft
alone . yet side by side . bare . bright . lacy and gnarled
I can relate . me and a tree

These are cool, Elk ~ and that last photo reminds me of a quote Andrew Wyeth made once: "I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show."
I like what you see.
Amazing beauty through the window and through your eyes!
I can so relate to your last photo as well :).
Stay inspired!
yes! favorite way to SHOOT...through a window as i'm whipped along the way.
These are so very lovely. The bottom shot also have lovely undulations in the land.
Sooo lovely is your tree poetry in word & image today, Elk. So much I've always identified with tree... I see so much of myself in them. We are all one, aren't we? ;o) Happy Week, my friend ((HUGS))
you so beautifully rock the words with this image. again.
I can relate too:)
and I love the feeling
of whisking along
warm and cozy inside
while taking in the wild winds
against treelines
brushing sky.
your photos and words
relax me deep
and I thank you for this,
Jennifer
You see things so beautifully:) It has been way too long since I have had a chance to stop and visit this beautiful spot...
oh, to have eyes to see when we are moving fast. blessings to you, too, friend. xox
Hi Elk,
I share your love of trees. They are especially beautiful, bare branches and all - this time of year. Lovely captures!
Have a great week:)
Lovely :) such perfect words - love the "lacy and gnarled" image.
Aren't these trees just gorgeous!
I'd give anything to find trees on a bare hill like that and have a camera in my hand :)
Silhouette tress are some of my most favourite things. Your images are stunning x x
I'm really loving that first image. I do love the bare trees against a winter sky.
Dreamy, and alone in a crowd.
yes. me, too :)
i just love the way you see the world.
even the blur. part of your movement as the trees stand still. the lately gray skies make the trees seem . . . more sacred, somehow. as do your images, come to think of it.
Such beautiful...elegant..graceful trees. Love these winter landscapes!
I love this thought - that you and a camera offers an embrace. I love that.
