do you mind...

... one more day among the pines

blogblogonblog

there is a calm underneath the tall trees
an abstract quality to the intertwining of branches
these moments amid the evergreens . even in black and white
encouraged me to breath deep . be still . gaze skyward .

I love the pines! I am not a big fan of the wind here in the desert, but when the wind blows through a bunch of pine trees, there is something magical about it.

there's nothing like photographing trees in black and white - it makes their beauty even more majestic, makes me really pay attention to their exquisite details. these are so very pretty. ps: your wish is still hanging on the tree :)

Glorious! Your photos took me away for a moment to my summer road trip through the North Carolina mountains.

i grew up around pines and love them. love the smell, the swaying of the trees, the hushes whisper of sounds as the wind goes through them.

I love the way treelines brush
the sky
...especially these wise
grandfatherly trees
with their craggy wisdom.
You just get the sense
that "they know."
Thanks for sharing,
Jennifer

My son Noah loves to take pictures of pine trees, too -- something about the way they tower draws him to the base to shoot upwards.

I have a special connection to trees (and branches, which I use in my art). I've been known as a tree hugger in my days. These are amazing photos!

Beautiful! Makes me remember sitting under one of those trees when I was young, making a "fort". As adults we don't take the time to stop and enjoy views like this. Thank you!

Beautiful! Beautiful photos but more importantly, beautiful moment for stopping to enjoy life.

During my recent holiday in Lebanon, a friend and I went for a half-day hike in the cedar plantations. Fresh snow on the ground, glorious baby cedars next to millenia-old cedars, a view for miles of the valley below. Anyway, thanks for bringing back that special moment among pines

I can almost smell them, and hear echoes of the wind.

I absolutely love pictures taken beneath trees. Yours are exquisite. I can almost feel the breeze whispering through the branches and the occasional pine needle spinning downward. The noisy quiet of nature...broken branches, chirping birds, flapping wings. Thanks for the beauty.

i breathed deep these pines this past week in the mountains steep, and they were exactly as you described, and how you pictured them so perfectly...

and how i miss them. now, i can come here and visit them again, and again.

thank you. for the nature of your soul. ALL my love.
