it has become faded in flowers . a hue that whispers about times of comfort . nothing fancy
strong ivory stitches one beside the other . straight in their own way . a path of thread
afternoon spent flapping in the breeze in anticipation of that "just off the line" aroma ...
soft cream fabric on the one side with "XOXO 1997" embroidered in navy
created by my mom so many years ago . although that "just yesterday" feel remains as my hand rests there
a reminder of all of you here ... my "quilt of friends" each a different square . color . flower
who stay for a moment wrapped in this space

A quilt of friends .. what a lovely thought.
It's so lovely to own a quilt made by friends...you are a lucky girl to have one. thanks for showing it to us!
I have two quilts made by one of my grandmas. Such priceless treasures. Your thoughts are succinctly perfect.
Beautiful! I know how special it is to have something handmade by our moms.
what a special quilt, handmade by mom.
i like the thought of a quilt of friends. you're a great friend to me.
each diverse, each part of the whole ...
To understand why this makes me cry you would have to know my sad little quilt story. Nothing too profound, but maybe for another time.
This is beautiful.
I love the photo of the stitches...every quilt takes so many stitches. I am happy to be part of your "quilt of friends".
What a lovely remembrance of your mom and lovely sentiments to your quilt of friends.
your stitches hold us together

I have never been a fan of quilts, until I see them through the eyes of someone that loves them.
This is beautiful
Lovely words and photos! I love quilts the warmth, work and women...okay some men that weave their magic with timeless memories and stitches!
What a beautiful treasure, truly. I could smell that just off the line aroma...
What a beautiful post Elk.
I "recognize" some of your fabric - used in some of my quilts - back in the day, when I was a quilter.
made me smile! :)
we are lucky enough to have some quilts in our home that were made by my husband's grandmother. I love tracing my hand over her embroidered name and her stitches quilts are the best of treasures.

This is so beautiful. I can feel the good energy...
Oh how I love quilts and probably would have lots of them in my home if my hubby didn't hated them.
Thanks for bringing your mom around the corner.
