Brown and grey-blue is just about my favourite colour combination. Add the texture of life and weather and you've got something very special ... this one just delights me ... will stay in my mind for quite a while.
sometimes torn....often blowing around trying to find the right place to land....getting stepped on and crunched into tiny pieces....or being raked into a large pile to be jumped in by the love of children....

and new ones always come along ...
Love the meataphor. And don't forget - leaves change colors...they are constantly re-creating themselves!!!
I am feeling a bit like the old wrinkled one today! :)
What lovely pictures from something that most people would hardly notice.
Thank you for giving me permission to be just a little worn today...
I ask myself "is it okay"... am I happy & okay with being a leaf?
You say so much with so few words....
i thought that was a photo of me, at first!
i see your sweet comments on joan elizabeth's
lovely blog. don't you just love her?
love the analogy - beautiful shots
I absolutely love photographs of leaves. I find one that speaks to me and take about a billion pictures of it. Beautiful words to accompany. :)
Perfect! I love your photos.
Great comparison. Love the images.
yes it is, ok.

Great great images..great metaphore for life. I am so ready for the new beginnings that Spring has to offer. Happy week to you my kind friend.
lovely, elk! i have to say this leaf looks so like my skin today... dry, weathered, blotchy. ugh. can't i be a new spring flower instead?! ;)
Thank you for reminding us the beauty in all- even in the things we fear..-

This metaphor--visually and in word strikes a chord, Elk... oh, yes! Happy Week, my friend :o) ((HUGS))
It is okay, isn't it? Thank you for reminding me, and for doing so in such a beautiful way.

...your posts are always like illustrated poetry...Thank-you!
Some are leaving, others are coming...and so the circle...
Beautiful!
Love the texture in these images - of the leaf but also the timber.
I so relate to this... leaflife is a great metaphor for reallife! And as always, you've captured it so perfectly in word and image :)
the leaves I saw on my walk today were rather soggy and decomposing.
But I'd like to think that life comes from death .
who says old isnt attractive? ;)
Perfectly imperfect! Love it...
So true, and beautiful even so.
So crisp, so clear, so frail.
ok and so much more! delicate beautiful leaf...
wonderful color and texture in your photos. love old dried up leaves. they have the most character.
The old leave has far more character than the young one. It has lived and has stories to tell.
so beautiful!
I've always loved withered leaves, dilapidated buildings, character lines...
