Now you know I love old buildings so these really caught my eye ... but I have to say the thought with them has given the images an even greater depth ... beautifully said.
This is perfect for Red or Gray, Depends on the Day title. ..I love it.
love these photos... love the old buildings, and even more so love the words you have to go with... they may be old but they are sturdy... they don't build them like they used to :)
an old episode of "I Love Lucy" just popped into my head... specifically a line... in this episode an elderly neighbor named Ms. Lewis had developed a crush on a gentleman named Mr. Ritter. Ms. Lewis wanted Lucy's help on how to be alluring to Mr. Ritter... When Lucy acted surprised, the woman said to her... "Listen... just because there's snow on the roof doesn't mean there's no fire in the furnace."
it calls to mind "wabi-sabi", the japanese respect for old and weathered things... things that carry the patina of life, and that that is what makes it beautiful...
i have such a greater fondness for this concept with the more patina i pick up along the way!! ;)
