one year ago one of my best friends
was in the depths of chemotherapy treating breast cancer
I took a piece of tissue paper & fashioned it into a ribbon
for the month of October snapped daily photos of it
in unusual spots around my home and garden
then posted them in my sidebar each day

nothing monumental or earth shattering, even a little strange I suppose
but the moments spent taking varied photos I felt involved visually
it was my small way to honor her strength and courage
to meditate on Julie and so many others

I look forward to sharing

It's amazing how meditative photography can be. And I don't know why it is important to hold people consciously in our thoughts like this from time to time - but it is.
Very glad your fried Julie is doing well.

This is such a personal and creative thing you did with the pink tissue paper. I see this like, representing your friendship with Julie.
What an inspirational story. Your photos are uplifting, beautiful, like those women undergoing challenging times with amazing courage.

for the love of our friends, and the love of our cameras~~both OFTEN rescue me. i was just saying that the camera pulled me up and out during the last week, changing introspection into a deeper, fuller breath of life. I so appreciate the ritual honoring and supporting your dear friend.
