MAPLE GIFT
our japanese red maple last week at the peak of color ~ we had a couple of really windy days and now the leaves are gone!

I love the colour of these trees. I wanted one in my back garden but the grow to big for the area I wanted it to go.

the childrens program was so much fun cameras flashing ~ not one crying kid ...lots of joy glad it is over woo hoo!
love these colors...and miss them so much already as "white" has taken over here....granted, many shades of white, but still not as pretty as these.....

the red is that beautiful red that i love to see when it is painted on a front door... welcoming, happy, cheerful.

In the summer months, I indulge in a hobby called Flower Pounding or Petal Pounding. It involves using masking tape to secure the flower, leaf, etc to a piece of fabric, turning the fabric over and pounding. The Japanese maple is my most favorite of all things to "pound"! You should try it!

the leaves on my red maple have all turned cripsy but still hanging on.
Our japanese maples are always the most beautiful of our fall trees, one variety stays green then turns orange and red .

I repeat what everyone else has said - love, love, love the color! Today we have fog and snow - and a company Christmas party tonight.
How is it you can inspire me and yet bring me peace and sweet memories all on the same page of pictures. Hmmm, nature is the best canvas, the toys of children are the inspiration of the future, Sam the ever sweet muse of serenity and the hint of holidays to come - what more could there be? Oh I have no doubt your will find it!

What a wonderful tree you have here. In MO we had one just like it and we loved it. Wish I could of brought it with me when we moved to IL.
