How gorgeous... I have a marble cutting/kneading board passed down generations that was our wedding present 5 years ago... I display it and love it to much to use it...
Hmmm, Red or Gray, I think today is Gray and I love your mom's leaf and how you posted one of your own. Two artists, sharing vision with the same object. Very poetic. It is very sad to lose a mom. She was a beautiful woman and you are blessed to have these pieces of her. I have felt the same with my mom's fabric and unfinished pieces.
Just wanted to give you the heads up about making your pictures larger on your blog. I couldn't find your email address but if you want to email me I can run you through it. -donna
I love my pottery made by my great grandmother, who died when I was 5. Her art is beautiful and that sense of beauty and good mothering has been passed on. I can tell.

Wonderful leaf images. That second leaf is huge! Or at least it looks huge. =) Love these in b&w.
I love the second shot and the black and white tones.
From what you've shown she was an incredible artist. She has a lovely daughter who is an incredible artist herself. Happy Friday.
Both b&w photos are beautiful. I like the drawing on the first photo. It really was drawn by a hand of artist.
Have a wonderful weekend!
What gorgeous pictures!!!!
Gorgeous. I love that they are black and white.
Your mom was a very talented artist. Did she sell her work, or was it only for personal enjoyment?
Your leaf photo is so beautiful. It is perfect paired with your mom's drawing.
Okay, seriously......this is getting scary :)
What beautiful texture!
a beautiful pair. attention to detail by both artists.
Bittersweet, indeed.
And, oh, what a beautiful pairing.
what a wonderful treasure indeed. I have one piece my mother painted and two pieces of furniture my father built. They are priceless to me.
What a wonderful combination.
B&W really brings out the texture of both.
How lucky that you have things of hers.

What a gift you both have. Exploring art in different ways. Very evocative...:)
